Brand Collection

Copper is a premium Yemeni coffee brand, available in the UAE through PERCUP. Yemen is the historic birthplace of coffee — where cultivation and the coffee trade began over five centuries ago — and Copper brings its rare, high-altitude beans to specialty coffee lovers across Dubai and the Emirates.

Why Yemeni coffee is unlike anything else

Yemeni coffee is among the rarest and most prized in the world. It's grown on terraced farms high in Yemen's western mountains — often above 2,000 metres — and dried naturally in the sun on small family farms, a method practised for more than 500 years. Yemen's heirloom Arabica varieties, often grouped under the name "Yemenia", are genetic ancestors of much of the world's coffee. The result is a bold, complex cup: dried fruit, cocoa and chocolate, warm spice like cinnamon and cardamom, and a wine-like natural sweetness found nowhere else.

The Copper range

Copper focuses on premium single-origin Yemeni coffee, roasted to highlight its natural depth and aromatics. [Range detail to be finalised once SKUs are confirmed — see note below.]

How to brew Yemeni coffee

Yemeni coffee suits filter, pour-over and espresso. Roasted medium to medium-dark, it makes a rich, chocolatey filter cup and an aromatic, full-bodied espresso — brew with water just off the boil to draw out its spiced character. Traditionally, Yemenis also make qishr: a warming drink brewed from the dried coffee husk with ginger and cardamom.

It's grown on terraced farms high in Yemen's western mountains — often above 2,000 metres — and dried naturally in the sun on family farms, a method practised for over 500 years. Yemen's heirloom Arabica varieties, often grouped as 'Yemenia', are genetic ancestors of much of the world's coffee, giving Yemeni cups a depth found nowhere else.

What does Yemeni coffee taste like? +

Yemeni coffee is full-bodied, aromatic and complex. Expect rich notes of dried fruit, cocoa and chocolate, warm spice such as cinnamon and cardamom, and a wine-like sweetness that comes from natural sun-drying — a bold, distinctive profile that stands apart from cleaner, brighter coffees.

What does Copper offer? +

Copper focuses on premium single-origin Yemeni coffee, roasted to highlight its natural depth and aromatics. [CONFIRM: specific lots, sourcing regions such as Haraz, Bani Matar or Yafa'a, roast levels and pack sizes.]

How do I brew Yemeni coffee? +

Roasted medium to medium-dark, it makes a rich espresso and a full, chocolatey filter cup. Traditionally, Yemenis also brew qishr — a spiced drink made from the dried coffee husk with ginger and cardamom.

Why is Yemeni coffee more expensive than other coffee? +

Yemeni coffee is genuinely rare. Yields are tiny — grown on small, high-altitude family terraces, hand-picked and sun-dried — and export from Yemen is logistically difficult. Combined with strong global demand, this makes authentic Yemeni coffee one of the most premium origins in the world.

How fresh is the coffee and how should I store it? +

Every Copper coffee is freshly roasted, with the roast date shown on each product. Specialty coffee is at its best 2–6 weeks after roasting. Store whole beans in an airtight container away from light, heat and moisture, and grind just before brewing.
