Ground Coffee

Discover the world's best ground coffee — freshly roasted and pre-ground for your exact brewing method. PERCUP stocks ground coffee from 40+ specialty roasters, with grind sizes tailored to espresso, V60 pour-over, French press, AeroPress, moka pot, filter machines and Turkish brewing. No grinder at home? No problem. Choose your brewing method at checkout and we'll grind to the perfect particle size before shipping — no compromise on flavour.

Most of our coffees are available as whole bean or ground for your method of choice. Grinding releases aromatic compounds that fade within minutes, so freshly-roasted ground coffee is best brewed within 1–2 weeks of grinding for peak flavour. We grind to order — your ground coffee leaves our facility within days of roast date.

Ground coffee by brewing method

  • Ground for Espresso — fine grind, the consistency of fine sand. For traditional espresso machines, semi-automatic and manual lever espresso. Use 18–20g of fine-ground coffee per double shot.
  • Ground for V60 / Pour Over — medium grind, the consistency of table salt. For Hario V60, Kalita Wave and similar paper-filter pour-over methods. Ideal for showcasing single-origin character.
  • Ground for AeroPress — medium to medium-fine grind depending on your AeroPress recipe. Versatile method that works with a wide grind range.
  • Ground for French Press — coarse grind, the consistency of breadcrumbs. The metal mesh filter needs larger particles to prevent over-extraction and sludge in the cup.
  • Ground for Moka Pot / Stovetop — fine-medium grind, finer than V60 but coarser than espresso. For Bialetti and similar stovetop espresso makers.
  • Ground for Filter Machine / Chemex — medium-coarse grind. For automatic drip coffee makers and Chemex paper-filter brewing.
  • Ground for Turkish — extra-fine grind, the consistency of powder. For traditional Turkish and Arabic coffee preparation in a cezve.

Ground coffee by origin

Origin shapes flavour as much as brewing method. From PERCUP's specialty range, ground coffee is available from all major specialty origins:

  • Brazilian ground coffee: chocolate, nut and caramel — the classic espresso profile. Brazilian coffee beans are available pre-ground for espresso, French press, V60 and more.
  • Colombian ground coffee: balanced sweetness, mild acidity, caramel and red fruit. Colombian coffee beans ground to your preferred brew method.
  • Ethiopian ground coffee: floral, fruity, citrus and tea-like — the brightest origin character. Best ground for V60 or filter brewing to showcase the aromatics.
  • Arabic and Turkish ground coffee: for traditional Arabic and Turkish preparation, choose the extra-fine "Ground for Turkish" variant — powder-fine, ready for cezve brewing.
  • Geisha ground coffee: rare, floral, premium — Panama Geisha available pre-ground for V60 to showcase the delicate jasmine and bergamot aromatics.
  • Decaf ground coffee: for evening drinkers and caffeine-sensitive coffee lovers — Swiss Water Process decaf available ground to your preferred brewing method.

Why ground coffee from PERCUP

  • Ground to order. Your coffee is ground after you place the order, not pre-ground months earlier. This preserves maximum aromatic intensity.

  • 40+ specialty roasters. One marketplace, every brewing method covered: Cafe Rider, ST. ALi, La Gente, THREE Coffee, Slick Coffee Co., Onyx Coffee Lab, Boon Coffee Roasters, La Cabra, Intellect, Gold Box, Flava, SOFE and many more.
  • Bulk and 1kg ground coffee available. Many coffees ship in 1kg bags for cafés, offices and high-volume home drinkers. Wholesale enquiries welcome.
  • Free UAE delivery on orders over AED 200, same-day in Dubai, global shipping at checkout.

How to get the most from ground coffee

Ground coffee starts losing flavour the moment it's ground — aromatic compounds escape into the air, oils oxidise, and the cup gradually flattens. Three things make a major difference:

  • Buy in 250g portions, not kilo bags. Smaller bags mean less time between opening and finishing, and more consistent flavour from first to last cup. Exception: cafés and high-volume drinkers should buy 1kg bags and decant into smaller airtight containers.
  • Store in an airtight container. Once you open the bag, transfer the ground coffee to an airtight container kept at room temperature, away from light, heat and moisture. Don't refrigerate or freeze — condensation accelerates flavour loss.
  • Brew within 2–4 weeks of grinding. Ground coffee stays drinkable for months but is at peak flavour in the first 2–4 weeks. After that, you're still drinking decent coffee, but you're missing the brighter notes.

Ground vs whole bean coffee — which is right for you?

Whole bean coffee preserves maximum freshness because the grinding step is delayed until just before brewing. But it requires a burr grinder (about AED 1,200–3,000 for a good electric grinder, or AED 600+ for a quality hand grinder) and an extra 30–60 seconds per cup. Ground coffee trades a small amount of peak flavour for substantial convenience — no grinder needed, no daily prep time, and excellent results when consumed within 2–4 weeks of grinding. For most home drinkers, particularly those who drink one or two cups a day from the same bag, ground coffee delivers 90% of the flavour with 0% of the equipment investment. If you're considering a grinder upgrade, browse whole bean coffee for the freshest possible cup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What grind size should I choose for my brewing method? +

Match grind size to your brewing method: extra-fine (powder consistency) for Turkish and Arabic coffee; fine (fine sand) for espresso machines; fine-medium for moka pot and stovetop espresso; medium (table salt consistency) for V60, AeroPress and pour-over; medium-coarse for Chemex and filter machines; and coarse (breadcrumb consistency) for French press and cold brew. The correct grind size is the single most important variable in coffee brewing — wrong grind size will ruin even the best beans.

How long does ground coffee stay fresh? +

Ground coffee is at peak flavour for 2–4 weeks after grinding when stored properly in an airtight container at room temperature. It remains drinkable for several months, but aromatic intensity gradually fades — the brighter floral and fruit notes go first, leaving a more muted chocolate-and-nut profile. PERCUP grinds to order, so your ground coffee ships within days of grinding. Buy in 250g portions rather than larger bags to ensure you finish each bag within the peak flavour window.

Where can I buy fresh ground coffee online? +

You can buy fresh ground coffee online at PERCUP. We stock ground coffee from 40+ specialty roasters across Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Panama, Costa Rica, Yemen and more — pre-ground for your specific brewing method (espresso, V60, French press, moka pot, AeroPress, Turkish, filter machine). Every coffee is ground to order and shipped within days of grinding. UAE delivery is 1–3 business days; international shipping available at checkout.

Is ground coffee less fresh than whole bean coffee? +

Yes, ground coffee loses freshness faster than whole bean because grinding exposes far more surface area to oxygen and accelerates the escape of aromatic compounds. However, freshly-ground specialty coffee consumed within 2–4 weeks of grinding delivers excellent flavour — comparable to home-ground beans for most drinkers. The trade-off is convenience: no grinder needed, no daily preparation. For drinkers without a quality burr grinder, ground coffee delivers far better results than ground from a cheap blade grinder.

What's the best ground coffee for espresso machines? +

For espresso machines, choose 'Ground for Espresso' variants — a fine grind with the consistency of fine sand. Medium to medium-dark roasted single-origin beans or espresso blends work best. Top picks from our range: Cafe Rider The Park Blend, THREE Coffee Black Velvet Blend, Jolly Roger Blend, ST. ALi Orthodox, and Brazilian single-origins like Brazil Boa Esperanca. The grind needs to be fine enough to create enough resistance for the 9-bar pressure of an espresso machine, but not so fine it chokes the machine.

What's the best ground coffee for French press and pour-over? +

For French press, choose 'Ground for French Press' variants — a coarse grind that prevents over-extraction through the metal mesh filter. Medium-roasted single origins like Colombia La Claudina, Ethiopia Gedeb Beriti, or any of our Cafe Rider single-origins work beautifully. For pour-over (V60, Chemex), choose 'Ground for V60' or 'Ground for Filter Machine' variants — medium-grind for V60, medium-coarse for Chemex. Light to medium roasts showcase origin character best in paper-filter brewing methods.

Can I use any ground coffee in my coffee machine? +

No — the grind size must match the machine. Espresso machines need fine grind (use 'Ground for Espresso'). Drip coffee machines need medium grind (use 'Ground for Filter Machine'). French press needs coarse grind (use 'Ground for French Press'). Using the wrong grind size will either over-extract (bitter, harsh coffee from grind too fine) or under-extract (sour, watery coffee from grind too coarse). At PERCUP we let you choose your grind at checkout so you always get the right size for your machine.

Do you offer Brazilian, Colombian and Arabic ground coffee? +

Yes — PERCUP stocks ground coffee from every major specialty origin. Brazilian ground coffee delivers chocolate-and-nut espresso character. Colombian ground coffee offers balanced sweetness and caramel notes. Ethiopian ground coffee brings bright, fruity, floral cups. For Arabic-style and Turkish brewing, choose the 'Ground for Turkish' variant — extra-fine powder, ready for cezve preparation. Single-origin coffees can be ground to your preferred brewing method at checkout — espresso, V60, French press, AeroPress, moka pot, filter machine or Turkish.
