The Ethiopia Guji Shakiso Hoqata Reserve is a showcase of Ethiopia’s legendary coffee heritage. Grown in the highlands of West Guji at 1,950–2,100 MASL, this heirloom varietal undergoes natural processing to preserve its clarity and depth. Crafted as a medium roast, it is recommended for filter brewing to fully highlight its delicate, aromatic character.
With notes of honey sweetness, a lively touch of orange citrus, and the refined depth of Earl Grey tea, this coffee is a layered and elegant experience. Each cup represents not only terroir but also a legacy of excellence from one of Ethiopia’s most respected coffee families.
This coffee is sourced by Nardos Exporting Company, a third-generation family business with roots in the Guji zone since 1960. Under the leadership of Mr. Aklilu Kassathe, Nardos produces over 2,000 tons of washed and natural coffees annually and collaborates with more than 1,300 growers certified by RFA, UTZ, and CAFE Practices. Beyond producing world-class coffee, Nardos invests in education and health initiatives, including the establishment of libraries and hygiene projects in Hagere Mariam.
Bloom with 50g for 40 seconds, then pour in stages to 288g. Total brew time: ~3 minutes. Expect a clean, bright cup with orange citrus and honey sweetness.
Bloom with 60g for 45 seconds, then pour gradually in stages. Brew time: 4:30–5 minutes. The Chemex highlights Earl Grey aromatics and floral sweetness.
